MacBook Pro cannot detect Garmin Edge 520

Hello,

My MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) cannot detect my Garmin Edge 520 when connected by USB cable. I have tried with different cables with the same result - no luck. It begins charging but I am not able to look it up in Finder. In Garmin Express I get the message that I should connect the device even though it is connected already. Please see the attached screenshot below.

The Garmin Edge 520 is running Software version 11.0

The MacBook is running macOS Sierra version 10.12.3

Has anyone of you encountered a similar problem and do you know how to fix it?

Thank you in advance!

    Garmin Express with Garmin 500

I am having the same problem with my MacBook Pro trying connect to my Nuvi. Has anyone come up with a solution yet ?

I am having the same issue. I updated Garmin Express and MacBook Pro connects with the Garmin 500 via Garmin Express but it is unable to sync.

    Same issue here

Unfortunately I'm having a very similar issue, I connect my Nuvi 2699LMT-D to my MacBook Pro and after a short while it pops up as a removable drive, then it disconnects itself (no input from me), I have tried several cables, even ordered a new Garmin branded cable, still the same issue, I emailed support on the 1st May and am still waiting for a reply, so I started a support chat where the guy asked me to do a master reset, performed the reset but still no luck.
Anyone else with better luck from support?

    Looks like an OSx issue

After lots of fiddling with the Nuvi and MacBook settings, I had a brainwave and yes it hurt.

I booted into Windows via Bootcamp and installed GE, as I type this my Nuvi is updating, so my logical thinking worked for a change

So its looking like an OSx or driver problem as the hardware is the same.
