Forerunner 410 not syncing in Garmin Express

I just came on to post exactly this.

Now it's been a while since I used my 410, but cracked it open this evening and went for a long overdue run.

came home, plugged in the Ant+ stick and i heard it doing it's job. when I checked the mac book after a while, clicked garmin express icon and the link to garmin connect.... no run there??????

did another sync, but noticed when it tells me it is syncing, the progress bar does nothing?????

did a google and found an old thread with similar issues but it was for pb. however it mentioned about forcing the sync, so i tried that. it seemed to work, got the progress bar on the watch going up till it was full and told me sync complete

still nothing in garmin connect.

shut it all down and tried again


still no run there..... help please someone

further point to note

date and time seem fine

my run updated to strava automatically. I forgot to check that last night, but it was there when I looked this morning

have found the file and tried to do a manual upload to garmin connect... it tells me it is uploaded, but it is still not there???????


I tested another run on my watch... not that I actually ran anywhere, but it uploaded fine

actually... I just had an idea.

I exported the gpx file from strava


and imported it to garmin connect



BINGO!



but why did garmin connect not take my file from my garmin watch, but instead would only take a file from another website??????? really weird

And that is exactly why I'm on the forum too right now!!! So, sounds like I need to connect my garmin express with strava let it funnel my file to Strava and then download the Strava file and upload to Garmin ? Yea right… Whatever is up it seems like we're all outa luck with the ant+ and 410

yea but except i since realised that the hr info is not there nor calories.... and god knows what else!!

just uploaded another file though and it is fine, obviously just a glitch in my first file

I am having the same issues with my Forerunner 305 from around the same date. My last sync through Garmin Express was on March 3rd and haven't been able to sync my March 6th run yet. I have downloaded Garmin Training Centre and at least been able to pull the data from the watch, but not able to get it up to Connect yet.

I had also tried exporting a tcx file from training centre and then importing that manually into connect which doesn't seem to be working as well.

I'm encountering the same issue with my 410. The last activity that successfully uploaded was on March 7, 2017. I should have paid more attention to see if I had updated the "Garmin Express" software since then. All of the activities I have done since that time have uploaded to Strava & Training Peaks just fine, but not to Garmin Connect. It would seem that the issue isn't with Express getting the info, but with its ability to "talk" to Connect... Does Garmin even check these forums?

I am sorry about the trouble uploading your activities. We do have a ticket open for this and it is being investigated.
