Garmin Swim sync error

Hi there,

Recently I purchased a Garmin Swim and I'm very satisfied but I have an issue when I try to sync with Garmin express. The activities are syncing without any problems but there is an update of my device settings which is impossible to sync. I get the following error: There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect. I have uninstalled, re-installed, factory reset, etc etc, but nothing works.
I'm using a Macbook Pro, El Capitan, latest version of Garmin express.

Could anyone help me, please?
  • Garmin Swim is not capable of receiving user settings from Garmin Connect, and yet Garmin Connect and Express constantly try to send settings to the device. This is an obvious connect/express bug. Not much you can do about it. If your activities sync ok, then I would just ignore the error message.

Ok, then will ignore it. Thank you so much tmk2!!
  • I used to remove the user settings from the transfer queue in GC, that got rid of the error message. It did not reappear unless I changed user settings in GC later.

Yes, this works, but it becomes too cumbersome when changing your user settings regularly. For example I update my body weight every day in the morning and the user settings update keeps reappearing. Initially I, too, removed it from the sync queue in Garmin Connect, but then got tired of it and just kept ignoring the sync error. But, hey, whatever works for you...
