Yesterday I was given a prompt by Garmin Express to update the maps on my 2455 nuvi. In doing so I was given a choice of various regions of the lower 49 states, but not all 49 due to space concerns. My unit does have an 8 GB sd card in it, but I am not sure if it recognized it. On the other hand it *might* have recognized it, but even with the micro card there might still have not been enough space because of all the updated map info. I looked online at the nuvi 57 LM which includes all 49 states but don't want to buy a new unit unless it's absolutely necessary. Should I just get a bigger micro SD card for the 2455, or go for the 57? What sizes of card will the 2455 accept?
An 8Gb card should be ample. Try reformatting the card (FAT32) to ensure it's empty then try Express again. Even if it recognised the sd card there are numerous reasons why there might not have been enough space on it, including the trash which might not be empty and thus takes up space.
