Nuvi 3597LM - Yearly CN NT Europe map update issues! Missing Country data

Hope you can help! Every year Garmin Express (latest vn) drives me mad! I upgrade to latest European software using Macbook Pro Retina 10.9.5 (Mavericks) using NOT the 10.10 version of GE but the legacy one from Garmin website. It appears to work normally! I updated a day ago - it says on GE summary page that I have latest version 2017.30. for for CN Europe. It definitely connects (text and green 'led' on GE) and take time to upload new maps - typically 45 mins or less. It says completed as normal and with 75% full capacity on my 3597 with 1.9 GB remaining. I look at maps and many just fine! I then change country from UK to Spain - BUT - and this is the repeating issue - it takes the 'S' but offers no 'active' highlighted 'P' on the soft-keyboard! I cannot find Spain. I can find Germany but not France - only Finland! Go figure?? I had 4GB SD in unit for some time now but doesn't appear to have any data on it. I've put in new Sandisk 16 GB Ultra uSD (microSD), 80 MB/s, C10, UHS etc., to make sure I've enough space on unit. I reload for 5th time - still same issues - no Spain country data except, presumably the global (v low definition) map. I look at maps in UK and Germany - all look fine! I've believe I solved same type of issue last year by reloading data again with GE BUT cannot fully remember that solution. What on earth is the problem please? I've even tried Garmin WebUpdater sw - this sees unit ok and load maps again (very quickly compared with GE) but still same issue with finding all EU map data, some country names missing etc!
I look on the web and forums and all I see are issues, issues, issues. Why cannot this GE software be simple to use and work each time? Garmin - I'm a retired Electronics/Communications Engineer and it's pretty clear to me that you have issues with the updating software - or - what is going wrong? I'm honestly stuck! Is there software that will allow me to see all software loaded on my nuvi 3597 so I can check what I have? Maybe remove update and start again? What I don't wish to happen is to lose some basic 'Lifetime updates' data and have to send the unit back!
NB On my nuvi going to Settings and myMaps - I see the following which look 'normal' to me:- Europe DEM, CN Europe NTU 2017.30 3D and CN Europe NTU 2017.30 ALL North (not sure what the last one is exactly?). All boxes are ticked ok!

    The reason you're not seeing Spain is you only have the North selection loaded. Rerun Express and select the Change regions option and select the full map.

    I've used Express for many years and only had one issue updating, when some voices were deleted and an issue this time, now resolved, where Express would only install Europe North. This is the first time the EU map has been split into North and South and Garmin resolved that issue very quickly.

    Note you say WebUpdater installed maps very quickly. That's impossible as it only updates software, not maps.

    GE - Europe South updating issues!

    Thanks your fast response - appreciated! :-) I don't quite understand why it appears to have updated all of Europe - sri - ''all of Europe 3D'' :-) - plus Europe ALL North (which, as you say is new - to me certainly!) with latest dates 2017.30? When I run GE again - I see no option to select or change my choice of map files! All I see is option to reload the 'Full Coverage of Europe 2017.30 and under map options either 'Reinstall Map that's currently loaded on this device OR Install map to computer. Please clarify how I select Europe South. That answer certainly makes sense 'cos all N'ish Europe appears to be ok! Thanks!

    A sudden thought re All North and All South Europe map update!

    HI SUSSAMB

    Sudden brainwave! Could the lack of maps choice be something to do with the older legacy MAC OS GE version which I've had to load because I'm on Mavericks (10.9). The latest GE sw is for 10.10 and above and perhaps those nice folk at Garmin did not think of adding this feature to 'older' GE sw! Assuming we'd all have updated our Macs by the time the split in 'All Europe' to 'All North' and 'All South' became fact?

    All of Europe 3D isn't the map, just the 3D element.

    Europe All North is the actual map.

    Hi - I've read all in the support link you gave me and nothing appears to match what I have in the 'legacy' version of GE (pre MacOS 10.10) - so could be that! Elsewhere on web I've found the following at this URL - which may or may not be relevant regarding poss errors in first issue of 2017.30 but should be fixed by now according to this blog. Was this an issue early 2017 - do you know? If no other course of action poss then I think I'll have to upgrade to El Capitan or later in order to see map load choice menu in later vn of GE!

    Then I suspect you're correct and it's your old OS etc that is causing the issue.

    Updating all Europe NTU maps on nuvi 3597 with MAC (now PC) Cured!

    So I didn't have to upgrade my MAC OS to 10.10 min (have Mavericks 10.9). I used my wife's Windows 10 laptop. Latest GE for W10 is, I think, 5.1.1. This found my SD card for the first time and suggested it used it to download latest CN Europe NTU 2017.30 map (NB still only listed as a SINGLE map not as Europe All North and Europe All South!). So, it downloaded over about 1.75 hours which looked good. Yes! It solved the issue in that CN Europe NTU All South also loaded this time (can see it under My Maps on my nuvi 3597) and it works for Spain, France, Italy now which is great! Out of interest, it appeard to load the internal membory (8GB approx) first - now with only approx 650MB left then approx 2GB onto the 16GB SD card I've fitted (class 10). So, solution is to use Windows 10 pc/laptop or, eventually, upgrade my Apple Macbook PRO Retina to 10.10 or 10.11 etc so to get the latest GE for MAC. I think this is a real issue for those with MACs who don't wish to upgrade from Mavericks! Garmin - please sort out the earlier vn of GE to work properly with MAC's - thanks!

    Express will load the full map if there is sufficient space, you won't get an option to select a smaller region. From your description it's loaded one part to your device and the other to the card.
