Forerunner 610: activities transferred... but where?

I am running an old system. Mac 10.6.8, and know I have some serious legacy issues. But I was working with a Forerunner 10 for a good while now, and was able to manually upload .FIT files to Garmin Connect, and everything works perfectly using Chrome. I have just got a Forerunner 610, second-hand, and have borrowed a USB ANT stick to try and get some data off it and onto my Garmin Connect page. I downloaded the Garmin ANT Agent for my OS, and it worked fine, and found the watch, and even said that the activities were transferred to Garmin Connect. But when I go to the site, they are not there. Am I missing something, or are they not actually there? My gut feeling is that they're not, and that's largely because the version of Garmin Express I was able to download for my Mac is 2.1.12 and does not to my knowledge support ANT. I hope the files (runs) are there online somewhere, so I can keep the watch, which is great, and also pick up a stick somewhere (the one I borrowed is the Suunto). But if it's all phantom stuff, I am a bit stuck. And yes, I know I need a new computer. And yes, I could do this through the iPhone if I shell out over 60 euro for a Wahoo Key. 'Just imagine somewhere out there someone has had the same problem and (hopefully) fixed it.

If the FR610 has not been used for a long time, and the battery was fully discharged, the time may have been reset to something like 1/3/2007. If you'd not used the GPS, time would not have been updated to the correct time if you'd done only indoor activities.

Have you tried looking right at the end of all your activities, i.e. your earliest activities?

Yes, thanks - tried that. I think the problem is not having Express. The message to say the files are synced is just a dummy link really, to get you onto Garmin Connect. I am now trying it on a PC laptop and by God that software is buggy. For a company that makes great watches, Garmin sure make some awful software...
  • Yes thanks - tried the Chris Ramsay option and I ran into so many problems, I admitted defeat. Thanks for the tips.
  • Sorted thanks

That blog link sorted the problem thanks. The .FIT files did actually transfer from the watch to the Mac, I just couldn't find them (a search wasn't showing them up for some reason) but that tip sent me to the right place in the Library and there they were. A manual upload and we're back in business. Thanks again.
