How can i update the maps on my computer

i have Garmin Express 5.1.0.0, just manually updated it.

I have lifetime maps on my Zumo 590.

I cannot see how to update the maps on my Mac, i DO remember having a menu option in the past - which seems to have gone now.

I have seen that this is an ongoing problem with Express, but most of the older threads are closed and are actually about much older versions.

Is this a Sierra issue - or a Mac Book Pro issue or a Garmin Express 5.1.0.0 issue - i can get my maps on the Zumo - but the USB is slow so is a real pain to use those maps on the Zumo when i have such fast SSD storage on my MBP.
  • If you have lifetime maps the download to your mac is an option that you need to select. You can choose to update your device, Mac or both.
  • Yep, i have lifetime maps - and - no - there is not option to update both the Zumo and the Mac.

I USED to have an option to update both - but it is no longer there. Can you outline where it should appear if the appllication thinks i have liftime maps, is there some way to tell Express i am supposed to be allowed to do this?

Is there a way to encourage Express to do what it should do, reset it?
  • Are you running the latest version of Express? If not update first then delete and re-add your devices to Express and see if that resolves it.
