Garmin Express update problem

Over the last several months, the last time being today, I have experienced a failure to sync. All three times, the sync was either interrupted or blocked by a notice that the garmin connect software needed to be updated.\ on my iMac. As there was no option to cancel or delay the update, I went through with the update, but the activity didn't sync. Later, I tried to sync by clicking the sync button on Garmin Express, the sync bar appears, but it is already fully colored in. The transferring data bar then appears on my watch, but instantly fills up as well, and, not surprisingly, the data is still not synced.
In the past, the only way to overcome this problem was to delete the entire history of the watch. Is there a way to prevent this from happening in the future? And more urgently, is there a way to manually upload the data from the watch from today's events? Thanks.

I am sorry about the trouble with syncing your device. The activities can not be uploaded manually from a watch that communicates via ANT. However, if the sync got interrupted, the activity was most likely just marked as sent on the watch. To get the activity to sync, you will just need to set the watch to resend all activities.
