Garmin reverting to past saved location when I turn off my car and re start it

Hi

I'm unsure if I'm posting in the right spot. Please help me if this is the wrong forum.

I have a Kenwood DNX6980 with Garmin Software Version 4.5

Recently the unit does a curious thing. If I input a new destination, the unit will revert to a previous destination (from several months ago, now).

The unit reverts after I've stopped the car, turned off the ignition and then restart the car's ignition.

I'd like to know if there's a solution for this problem. Moreover, if I do need to reset the unit, is there a way to not lose (or save) favorites.

This is an in dash unit.

This forum is about Express and unfortunately there isn't a forum here for device issues like this. My suggestion would be to call Garmin Support.
