Garmin Express (4.3.0.0) wil not recognise SD card

Previous thread on similar subject closed - so I start over again!:

When requested to load new maps, GE asks me to insert an SD card - if I 'insist' that there is already one, I'm instructed to 'unlock' it!

(When I look at the card information, I see that I have full read/write rights - and the card in question has been holding my maps since 2011).

The only 'way around' I could find was to install the maps on the computer (iMac), remove the existing maps from the SD card, and use MapInstall to copy the maps from the Mac to the SD card!

There should be an easier way to accomplish this.

BTW: MapInstall shows that i have three different map versions on the computer:
City Navigator Europe NT 2014.4
City Navigator Europe NT 2017.1
City Navigator Europe NT 2017.2

I suppose I want to remove the first two - how do I locate and identify them?
  • Finding the maps

I can help with finding your maps on your iMac. Assuming a recent version of OS X, in the Finder hold down the Option key and drag down to Library under the Go menu.

    Navigate to Application Support/Garmin/Maps

Thanks, got the older maps deleted. I actually used 'Programs/Garmin MapManager', see: http://imgur.com/a/xZHuy

I still hope for help regarding installation direct from GarminExpress to SD card.
  • Express has installed my maps directly to the SD card for a while now. Why yours won't work is possibly best troubleshooted by calling Product Support.
