Hi, I have just bought a Edge 820 and am running Sierra OS. Same problem saying Garmin can not connect to servers thought it was a hardware issue but trawling the forums seems to be software issue, Garmin please help!
I have an Approach X40. The fix didn't work for me.
When I plug into my MacBook to charge/sync, I get a message that there is new Garmin Express software to download. The download starts and then stops about 3/4ths of the way through. Then when I go to eject the X40, it doesn't appear in my Finder. I guess I'll submit a help desk ticket to support.
I have the same problem with Garmin Express 4.1.30.0 and Nuvi 2597. I plugin the device I see it popup under mounted file systems like it should and it disappears. Express tells me it's disconnected and won't allow me to reconnect again. I've tried to restart Nuvi and Express as well as my Mac many times.
