Server Error

I have a new Edge 820 (firmware 3.10) that I'm trying to add to Garmin Express 4.1.27.0 on a Mac, and when I attempt it, I'm receiving an error: "Server Error We're having trouble communicating with our servers."
Is this really a Garmin server-side problem or is there something else wrong?
I can connect this device using Garmin Express on Windows so it appears to be a problem with the 820 and the Mac version of Express.
  • Actually the problem is only for owners of the 820 unit and i believe only on Mac.

This leads me to believe this is really a problem with Mac AND edge 820 AND Garmin express.

I don't think so, see posts above. Seems you just need to save your device correctly in Connect.

It worked for me! Edge 820 on Mac

    ar
    Garmin knows its a bug.
This has happened twice to me as I accidentally bought the Garmin Edge Explore 820 first, then had to register the Edge 820 afterwards.
The first time the Garmin rep on the phone reset my connect password and dealt with it herself. The second time here is what I was instructed to do (it worked).

    1. Log in to Garmin connect on the web browser
    2. Click the 3 line tab on the top left
    3. Choose "Devices"
    4. Choose the device you are having issues with
    5. Click Save at the very bottom
    6. Plug device into the computer and attempt Garmin Express again

Hopefully this works for you, saving you time on hold with Garmin :p

Just found and tried this after several hours trying to get my new 820 to work with my mac and all is now working as it should. Good Job!!
