NuviCamLM won't switch on

I bought this before the summer for a trip but I never used it. I turned it on once or twice to set it up but never got around to using it in the car.
It has been in a drawer ever since....

Today I took it out to use for the first time in months and it won't power on or charge via car socket or Garmin wall socket.

Is this a common fault? Is there an easy fix? It appears the battery has died completely and will not even charge. The unit won't even switch on when connected to a power source.

Any ideas?

    Having said that if the battery is totally flat it will possibly take a few hours or so to bring it back to life, and preferably use an AC wall charger.
