It appears my recent post about a "track Archive error" has been closed so I can't add an update to that hence this new post in case anyone else has a similar problem.
Whilst away with no access to laptop the etrex 20x stopped saving tracks and would give the above error message. I tried to delete existing saved tracks and all but one would delete so maybe it was a problem with that one track. However once home I connected the unit to mac and ran Garmin Express selecting reinstall software. This give an message about insufficient space to complete install.
Viewing the files using Finder I copied the language files and the base map image file to mac and deleted them from the etrex. The reinstall software worked and the etrex seems to saving tracks OK now. I also copied back the deleted files and saved a copy of GUPDATE.GCD (the software download) just in case I need to reinstall.
The above might be useful although not sure why no etrex forum as they seem to be popular.
