Syncing with 910XT

Since the last Express update I am having a lot of difficulty syncing with my 910XT. It is a battle of unplugging ant stick, plugging into new usb port, turning 910 off and on, etc. It just won't sync until about the 10th try of fiddling with it. My 810 however sync with no problems. Running Yosemite 10.10.5, firmware on 910 is updated, etc. Anyone else experiencing this?

    similar problems

Hi there - I have the same watch and similar problems, although at the moment the problem seems to be a failure with connecting to Garmin's servers.

It could be that there's a file stuck in the transfer system for your 910XT possibly - I had this issue a few week's ago. It would effect your 910xt uploading without effecting your other device I think. I got this fix (below) from Garmin for that and it worked on my Mac. Although it's now not working again although for different reasons it seems!

Garmin Express stores activity files in a folder on the computer before uploading them to Garmin Connect. After a successful upload, the files are deleted. If a file contains data that Garmin Connect cannot import, the activity will fail to appear in the account and the file may remain in the folder.

Files that will not upload automatically should be manually deleted to prevent Garmin Express from trying to sync the file again in the future.

Activity files to be uploaded are stored in:

    Windows Vista SP2 and higher:

    - C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Devices\Unit ID of device\Sync\FIT_TYPE_4

*If the ProgramData folder is not displayed:

Press the Windows + R key together
    Type %ProgramData% in the box

    Mac OS 10.8 and higher:

    - ~user/Library2/Application Support/Garmin/Express/RegisteredDevices/Unit ID of device/PendingSyncUploads/Activities or /PendingSyncUploads/History

These respective locations are hidden in both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. They should be empty after successfully syncing a device.

*The User's Library folder is hidden by default in Mac OS 10.7 and higher. To open the user Library folder:

    Open Finder
Click Go in the menu bar
    Click Go to Folder
    Type ~/Library
    Click the Go button

Before removing these files you can manually upload them to Garmin Connect by following the steps below:

    Click http://connect.garmin.com
    Click Sign In
    Enter your log in details
    Click Sign In
Click 3 lines in the top left hand corner
    Click activities
    Click Import
    Click Choose File
Locate the data you want to upload
    Click Open
    Click Upload activities from file

Now the data has been uploaded to Garmin Connect you can click the View details button to view this data. If you want to load more data now then repeat steps 7-10.

If a file will not upload manually then it looks like the file itself is corrupt. I suggest you delete this file to avoid any further issues occurring.

If your device will sync successfully up to a certain date then this indicates that there is a corrupt file on that date which is blocking the other files from syncing. In this case I suggest you manually upload the data around this date and remove the corrupt file.

After following the steps above, and once all the possible data is uploaded, I suggest you perform a master reset on your device. This will reset it back to its factory default settings and wipe any data currently stored in the device, so if at all possible, please upload any important data to Garmin Connect before proceeding. After the reset has completed you will need to re-enter your profile details and zone information or send it from Garmin Connect.

Please click the link below and follow the steps on the guide to get instructions on how to perform a master reset of your device:
