Express says I have no MicroSD card, but I do.

Nuvi 1350 LMT.
Garmin Express 4.1.22.0 on Mac OS X 10.10.5.

Express detects the 1350, but when I tell it to update, it says I need a microSD card 3GB or greater.
I have a Kingston MicroSD HC 4GB card in there that is working fine with the version of s/w & maps that's already installed.
When I tell it to "Try Again" it says it can find no card installed.
Can I delete all the files on the currently installed card & try again, or do I need a more capacious card?

Any help appreciated.

  • Certainly worth moving the files off the card and trying. I wouldn't delete them just in case ;)

    Same problem here:
    I tried (re)moving the files from the SD card - but gave up when the estimated time was 2 hours. Moved files to trash instead.
    Now the SD card info says: Capacity 3.95 GB - accessible: 388,9 MB, but the card window is empty!?

    Moreover, when I turn on the nüvi it reports: "no map data available" - even though I haven't touched any of the nüvi files!

    Any proposals??
  • Sounds like the normal Mac issue, you'll need to empty the trash :)

    Indeed, that brought the 'accessible' space up to 3.95 GB! :)
    In the mean time I started downloading/installing maps of Scandinavia - don't know whether on SD card or on nüvi(?)...time will show.
    (My ambition is to load some more map coverage - with Germany included as a minimum).
  • If you weren't advised that the card was being used the map will be installed on the device.

    OK - how can I increase map coverage, then?

    I don't know how much space Scandinavia ('Nordic') occupies - but I suppose there should be room for Germany as well, either on the card or on the unit itself!??
  • Once you've updated your device run Express again. If you're entitled to additional maps see this FAQ
