Edge 1000 won't update eu cycle map

I tried everything: clearing out library/app support/garmin/express, caches, preferences, resetting device, another computer etc. But without luck.
I'm constantly getting error message that update has failed and this is from logs

You are correct that this issue is not a PC issue. The post was started in the wrong forum.

When the map update is failing during the Downloading portion, it means that there is an issue with the internet connection to the servers. Please try the steps in the FAQ, "">What should I do if I am having problems downloading updates in Garmin Express?">What should I do if I am having problems downloading updates in Garmin Express?" This will solve most errors during the downloading portion.

If the update still fails, please let us know.

Please do not post Mac logs in the forums. They clutter the forum and often the information doesn't tell us the cause of the issue. For instance, in red it says, "WARNING: The Gestalt selector gestaltSystemVersion is returning 10.9.4 instead of 10.11.4." It explains this isn't an error and if you look this up, it is just a note for developers to find the OS version. The second error is a bug on the computer and the third is just saying it can't communicate in a timely manner with our server (which we already know). I am removing the second log to help with clutter.

Unfortunately, the map update will stay in Garmin Express until it completes. We really need to know more about your issue to better assist you. Please tell us:
    • What phase is Garmin Express in when it fails?
    • What percent does it show when it fails?
    • Are you also downloading the Europe Cyclemap?

When we know where it is failing, we can better assist you.

I am sorry you are also having trouble with the cycle maps. Please try the steps I provided for CUMULUSNIMBUS. They will solve most downloading issues.

Let us know if you are still having trouble.

  • Edge 1000 won't update eu cycle map

I am trying to install update Routable Cycle Map of Europe 2016.10 to my newly purchased Edge 1000.

I have tried around thirty times on my one year old Mac (wireless connection) and also tried on my laptop (one year old fast HP ProBook wired connection).

I have reviewed the link support.garmin.com/.../simpleCase.htm but have everything in place.

I stopped the hard drive going to sleep and the mac itself.

    Sticking with the mac, looking in the logs;

During these many attempts I also cleared down the IMG\006-D4678-11 (once) so the whole process could start again. Unfortunately, though I think it may have gotten further, it still fails eventually.

Unfortunately, the map update will stay in Garmin Express until it completes. We really need to know more about your issue to better assist you. Please tell us:

      • What phase is Garmin Express in when it fails?

"Downloading Maps" (I got a german version, so translation may differ)
      • What percent does it show when it fails?

Does not show a percent rate, but the estimated download time.
      • Are you also downloading the Europe Cyclemap?

      Yes

Below is a Screenshot of the error in Garmin Express:
  • MD5 checksum error?

I looked through all the steps you gave to the other user, and everything seems to be adjusted accordingly. Although you do not like logs, but it is the source from where you can reproduce errors, don't you?

It looks like the MD5 sum of the file is not correct, so this could be one possible reason for the error. Downloading the file via my browser was done without problems.

The logs show that the resulting file that was downloaded failed the file verification check. This indicates that one of the mapping files that make up the cycle map update were corrupted during download. This could possibly be due to the wireless internet connection. Without looking at the PC logs, I don't have enough information as to why the update failed on that computer. Try following the troubleshooting in this FAQ:

What should I do if I am having problems downloading updates in Garmin Express?

Before attempting the download again, I recommend deleting the map files previously downloaded. I see you have already done this but I recommend doing so again.
