Server Connection Error

For the past three days, whenever I connect my Garmin 520 to my Mac and try to sync it via Garmin Express, I get an error saying it cannot connect to the server to check for updates. I sync my 520 via my phone, so my rides are still getting uploaded. However, I can't check to see if there are updates available for the 520 due to the error. Also, I've setup Strava segments within Garmin Connect and I can't get them to sync with the 520 to start displaying. I recently received a notification that there was an update available for Garmin Express, and the error starting appearing immediately after performing the update. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Garmin Express, but it didn't solve the problem. Any suggestions?

    had the same problem its something they have done in 4.1.17.0 and 18 remove latest version inc hidden library files and reinstall 4.1.16.0 will work perfect again or it has for me
  • Cannot add new product in 4.1.18.0

    I have same problem. When userid and password is entered (correctly) I get af server error after the update to 4.1.18.0.

    None of these things worked. Like others have said it started after the update. Please fix this version.

    I emailed them right after my last post. If they can resolve my issue, I'll post an update here.

    i did they sent me a copy of the faq page from the internet that took 4 days , so i replied tried that, asked if it was possible to go back to the old version , in the mean time 4.1.18.0 released that made no difference,5 days later they replied they said no so did some searching on the internet through the forum etc and found older versions and how to remove the current version, they asked for version no etc for gps,express screen shots sent that 2 weeks ago and had no response so put version 4.1.16.0 back on and it works perfect

    I emailed customer support 4 days ago and I haven't heard back. Any idea when Garmin Express will be updated to address this issue?

    Update on this issue - I called Garmin support and they were great in walking me through various troubleshooting steps. They ended up talking to the development team and figured out there was some type of corruption in my account. I removed my Edge 520 and Vivoactive from Garmin Express and Garmin Connect. I also had to manually remove the 520 from Garmin Connect. Once I re-paired the 520 with Garmin Express, everything worked as designed.
