New activity on Edge 500 won't post

I have an edge 500 and get the impression Garmin wants me to buy a new device. This used to download new activities easily but now often won't download activities. Seems to be the new software geared towards newer hardware and screw the old stuff. Any ideas as to how I can use my edge 500 with the current version of Connect?

    I am sorry you are having trouble syncing Activities to Garmin Connect and I am happy to assist you. The Modern View of Garmin Connect has been around for a year or two but we finally removed the Classic View. However, the Edge 500 is still compatible with the Garmin Connect and we are not trying to force you to buy a new device. To sync the data, please install ">Garmin Express for Mac">Garmin Express for Mac and add your device to it.

    If you still can't sync, please provide the following information so we can figure out why it fails:
    • Are you getting an error message when syncing?
    • What version of Mac OS is on your computer?
    • How much free space in on the Edge 500?
    • When was the last time you cleared the already uploaded data from the Edge 500?
    • Are you using WiFi (Airport) or a wired (Ethernet) connection to the internet?


    With more information, we can better determine the cause of your trouble.
