Last activity won't sync after reinstall

I am running MacOS 10.8.5 Garmin Forerunner 610

About once a week or so, I encounter the spinning beachball where Garmin Express has to be forcequit and once I restart the computer all is well.
This morning when I tried to upload my activity that did not work. I restarted and tried to sync, GE told me the sync was successful but the activity did not appear and the beach ball spun.

This time I followed all the instructions for a complete uninstall found in a 2/24/15 thread on this forum. I then went to Garmin Connect created and scheduled a workout. Downloaded and installed a clean version of Garmin Express and sent the workout to my Garmin. The sync did not complete so I tried a second time. The workout created today transferred, however the activity created yesterday did not. GE is showing my queue as "synced just now" and I am back to the spinning beachball.

At this point I just want to upload my activity file from yesterday although I'd love for this to work the way it's supposed. Is there an earlier version of GE I should use that plays better with Mountain Lion?

I am sorry for the troubles. I see that you were able to successfully sync today's activity earlier. If you would like to make sure your device and Express are optimized I can suggest a few things. If you continue to get the spinning beach ball you would need to contact Product Support by phone so the issue could be thoroughly investigated. Please complete the steps below.

    1. Remove from the watch History menu all activities that have successfully uploaded to Garmin Connect.

    2. Make sure you are running the latest version of Garmin Express 4.1.17 - How do I update Garmin Express? Backdating to an earlier version is not recommended or supported.

    3. Delete the Forerunner 610 from both Garmin Express and Garmin Connect - How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express? This will remove device related information from the Garmin Express supporting folders.

    4. Verify the older Garmin ANT Agent application is completely uninstalled from the Mac - How do I uninstall ANT Agent?

    5. Restart the Mac

    6. Add the Forerunner 610 to Garmin Express again.

    7. Resend the one activity that will not sync.

    Forerunner 610

    • Press MENU
    • Select History
    • Select Options
    • Select Upload
    • Select activity you want to upload
    • Select Yes

If the activity does not sync then it will need to be deleted from the watch. Unfortunately, the Forerunner 610 cannot create a valid file from the data. I suggest you keep no more than a months worth of History on the watch to prevent future occurrences.

Again, I am sorry for the troubles.
