Can not update Navigator V

Attempting to update software/maps on Navigator V, but unit will not stay powered on long enough to complete update.

Once plugged into computer, unit boots, then displays icon showing GPS plugged into computer.

Soon, screen goes dim, then several minutes later, unit turns off and "device ejected incorrectly" prompt appears on computer.

Any ideas if this can be fixed or is the unit broken?

Sounds like you need to charge the battery and then try the update.

In case the battery charge doesn't do it for you, how long does the unit stay on when running on battery without being plugged in? If it's OK that way, then try a new USB cable and/or a different port on your Mac.

Are you using a MacBook? If so, is the MacBook plugged into power? If not, the Nav V may not be able to get enough power through the port to stay on for the update.
