Garmin Express and OS X El Capitan - Still having ANT+ Stick Connectivity Issues

Former Member

I continue to see a flaky connection with my ANT+ stick in Garmin Express (Version 4.1.10.0) on OS X El Capitan (Version 10.11.1). The ANT stick will show connected for a short time and then not connected.

I have has no issues in using ANT+ with other programs such as TrainerRoad on the same MAC.

So far I have attempted all the other canned responses concerning troubleshooting the connectivity. I do not have a large history of activities on my device (910XT) as I have cleared out synced files.

Any other recommendations?

I am sorry for the troubles. The ANT connection issues identified in the Beta version of El Capitan have been corrected. If you are experiencing Issues with Garmin Express detecting the ANT Stick it should be treated as unrelated. In your particular case you use other applications that also access the ANT Stick. Since Garmin Express runs all the time as a Service on the Mac, the issues could be that another application that uses the ANT Stick is interfering with Express. Try changing the Garmin Express Service so it does not constantly run in the background.

    1. Click the Black Triangle in the menu bar
    2. Click Preferences
    3. Uncheck "Always keep Garmin Express running in the background"

Close the Preferences window and QUIT the Garmin Express application. Now when you open Express make sure any other application that communicates with the ANT Stick is not running.

If you continue to have troubles I suggest you contact Product Support by phone so the issue can be investigated.
