Garmin Express on New Computer Wiped Data on Watch

I installed garmin express on my mac today after my desktop had been running into some issues. I hadn't synced it in about 1 week. After I installed and registered the device, I noticed only the latest run from today had been synced.

I then noticed that the watch itself had no history of any runs before today. Somehow all the data on the watch had been wiped except for today's. I lost about a week's worth of running data.

1) Is there a way to get my old data back anymore? The "activities" folder only has 1 thing in it, so I don't even know if the data is on the watch.
2) Is this supposed to happen? Seems like a really badly written software to me.

I am sorry for the troubles. The Forerunner 10 acts just like a USB Flash drive when its connected to the computer. It will show up in Finder as a Garmin drive or volume where the internal files can be accessed by the user. Garmin Express doesn't have the ability to delete files from the device. In reviewing your Connect account it looks like you upload an activity about every other day and that seems to still be the case. There are activities for every other day back to the 11th of Oct. If your missing activities, take a look in the Activity folder on the Garmin. Each activity you do on the Forerunner 10 creates a separate .FIT file. If there are files that have not uploaded to Connect you can manually upload them.

    1. Sign in to Garmin Connect
    2. Click the plus sign icon in the upper right
    3. Click Upload Your Activities
    4. Click the Manual Upload tab
    5. Follow available instructions.

If the Activity folder only contains a .FIT file from today's activity and the Trash on the Mac is empty then the missing activities cannot be recovered. Again, I am sorry for the troubles. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
