Garmin Express and OS X 10.11 and nüvi 2797

I am sorry about the trouble. Unfortunately, this will not be resolved with a Garmin Express update as this is not an issue with Garmin Express. Something was changed in OS X 10.11 that prevents the device's storage from mounting so it will not even display as a drive on the computer. We have created a case and are currently investigating this issue.

Just to let you know that Garmin Express running on OS X 10.11 does not recognize (mount) a nüvi 2797 either.

I moved this post to a new thread as it is not the same issue as the Approach S5 and S6 on the Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan.

I just connected a nuvi 2797 to my iMac running 10.11 and it mounted immediately with no issues. I recommend first verifying that your Mac is detecting the device and then troubleshoot why it is not mounting or being detected by Garmin Express or other Garmin applications.

How do I verify a physical connection of a USB GPS device to a Mac?

Why is my Garmin mass storage device not communicating with Garmin Mac applications?

If you continue to experience difficulties, it would be best to contact Product Support by phone for further assistance.
