Install Maps to Basecamp - I don't see the option...

Hi

I regularly use Garmin Express to download quarterly map updates to several devices. Last night I connected a device, saw there was a new update and tried to install it to the device and Basecamp.

I'm pretty sure that the option to install to both places used to be under the "Installation Options" section, but now there is just a large expanse of grey with no options displayed at all.

I've attached a screenshot of the options screen. Can someone confirm that I'm remembering correctly and perhaps suggest how I can get the options to reappear?

For information, this is the first time I have used Garmin Express since upgrading to El Capitan, which may be a coincidence, but...

  • This option seems to have a mind of its own, and not a very intelligent one.

What worked for me was letting it install to the GPS, then go back and begin to try to reinstall. At that point, the option to install to my Mac re-appeared.

  • I am sorry that you are having trouble with this. We currently have a case open for this behavior in El Capitan. In the meantime, it should work if you update the device first as danham_ stated.

Thanks for the advice. I was reluctant to just press the button in case I ended up with different maps on the computer and device, but I did what you suggested and it worked.
