The forums are heavily censored

It's clear that Garmin isn't interested in genuine feedback, nor are they allowing a clear picture of customer satisfaction. I've now had several posts which included no profanity or insults, but just genuine clear feedback, albeit negative, blatantly censored and not allowed for others to see. I'm hearing that my issue must be isolated because others haven't complained, but really, how can anyone see the real picture if customers complaints are kept off the forums? This company has some serious problems.
  • TBH I personally have used inflammatory language quite a bit and not once my post was deleted or significantly changed, except f-words were replaced by something more appropriated, actually, many thanks to moderators for this work! =)

My point is that while f-words are ok, genuine negative feedback obviously is not.
  • These Garmin forums have plenty of shortcomings, but I don't think blatant censorship is one of them. I have seen plenty of comments with very negative criticism of Garmin that were allowed to stand. From time to time, there does seem to be some technical issues with the Garmin forum software where sometimes a post seems to get lost in the bit-bucket. So I would suggest you just try reposting your comment. If it goes away again, then maybe you can chalk it up to censorship.
  • You only have to look around to see negative comments in their hundreds. No post is removed simply because it is negative.

Well, you're the mod over on the thread where my negative reply is still awaiting moderation after three attempts and a whole day of waiting. So what's the problem? You insist my issue is my fault for not reading carefully enough when there's another poster on the same thread who said they can't find the info you're referring too except in the FAQs. You insist that no one else is unhappy with the fact that the maps are sold while obfuscating the fact that updates are not included, because obviously they would have complained here. You're completely dismissing my complaint and my posts are not showing.
  • Your posts are there, at least as far as I can see?

As for answering your posts, they have been. I can't 'dismiss' your complaint, I'm not employed by Garmin. What I've pointed you at is the fact that when you ordered the map it was clear that it wasn't updateable. I've given you a link to the information that used to exist.

I've agreed that now there is a change (dated 15 Sep 15) to the relevant FAQ, but you can't now point at that as it didn't exist until this month.

You will have to wait for further info from any Garmin staff that care to comment. They pop in regularly on the Express forums so you should get a comment from them shortly. If you can't wait you should call Product Support, but I'd be surprised if they would be sympathetic in this case simply because you didn't check exactly what you were getting. I can appreciate that's not what you want to hear, but you won't get a more definitive answer from me because I'm unable to give you one.
