Can't update maps on 3590LMT

I have been unable to update the maps on my 3590LMT for over a year now.

I tried Customer Support last year by email and after about 10 mails back and forth over a period of 3 months and at least 3 different Technicians I gave up!!!

After reading through this forum I'm starting to wonder whether it's the combination of Garmin Express and my Macbook Air.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem as I'm just off to Spain and Portugal so would like my maps up to date?

Unfortunately, your post does not give any details on the issues you are experiencing. Have you tried all the troubleshooting in our FAQ:

What should I do if I am having problems downloading updates in Garmin Express?

Have you tried a hard wired internet connection? Are you using a data transfer cable connected directly to a port on the MacBook Air? Or is it an issue with the screen resolution where the bottom of the Express window is cut off and the Next button is not available?

Why doesn't Garmin Express fit on the screen?

Try the above and if you still experience issues, it would be best to contact Product Support by phone.

The problem we were experiencing was "there was an error" during installing update.

Decided to try a Windows PC and when we had downloaded Garmin Express it wouldn't even recognised that the 3590 had a SD card installed so went back to Mac.

We then decided to downloaded the maps to the Mac only and then we formatted the SD card and inserted in the 3590 and then used Mapinstall to load them.

This worked fine so we decided to launch Garmin Express again as a check and this told us the maps were still out of date even though we could see that they were 2016 versions. So we clicked install and we then got a successful update via Garmin Express.

All this was done over Wifi connected to fibre broadband.

Not sure what all this means, but it's not an easy solution when you buy lifetime map updates and as I said Product Support were not able to help me last year!!!
