Windows 10 crashes during Software Update for Nuvi 255 when copying files begins.

Windows 10 crashes during Software Update as soon as copying file begins. I am trying to update my Nuvi 255 with the latest system and maps updates. Garmin Express loads perfectly, my Nuvi 255 is found OK and everything looks good. I get the note that a software update is available and I click continue. The green bar indicates a download is occurring, but when it gets about halfway across and starts indicating "copying files" Windows 10 completely crashes. I am only running one USB port for Garmin plus the mouse on another port. I have turned off all antivirus software and I am not running VPN. Everything looks good, but yet the system crashes as soon as Garmin Express "Copying Files" begins. What can I check for next? Thanks!

I am sorry for the troubles. This indicates there might be an issue with the internal memory on the Nuvi. I suggest you remove it from Garmin Express, follow the instructions in the FAQ below then add it back and update the software.

How do I run a check disk or disk utility on my Garmin mass storage device?

If you continue to have troubles please contact Garmin Product Support by phone so the issue can be thoroughly investigated.
