Approach S3 won't connect to windows 10

My Approach S3 won't show up in my device manager.

I've tried to install the USB driver from the Garmin support site, installed Garmin express, re-installed the software several times, rebooted over and over again.

Waited a couple of weeks to see if software is getting updated to support Windows 10.

In the mean time I've tried different solutions found in this forum, and what else found on the web.

Please let me know, that Garmin are aware of the problem, and a solution is on its way. Or tell if I need to buy a new product, to fit my needs.
(probably not going to be Garmin, if that is the answer)

Garmin software is supporting Windows 10. We have installed it on multiple computers with no issues. I have connected Approach devices, S and G series, to Windows 10 computers with no issues.

Does the device show that it is going into mass-storage mode when connected? Or does it boot into normal mode? If it boots into normal mode, the device will never be detected and that is the issue. Have you tried all the troubleshooting in our FAQ:

Why is my Garmin mass storage or MTP device not communicating with Garmin Windows applications?

If it is going into mass-storage mode, devices like the Approach S3 use Windows drivers, not Garmin drivers, to communicate. Was the Approach S3 detected by this computer prior to upgrading to Windows 10? Is it still detected using another computer?

Your post mentions the Device Manager but what about Disk Management, is the device showing there when connected?

Have you checked this thread to see if anything there is helpful?

If you are still experiencing issues, we will need to preform more in depth troubleshooting and it would be best to contact Product Support by phone for that.

Thanks for the fast reply :)

Today when I plug in the USB, the device was recognized.

The only thing different from last nights post and today, is that Windows update installed a lot of patches.

Now I'll test it on my other Laptop, just for the fun of it :)

    Thanks for your inconvenience.
