Forerunner not recognised by Garmin Connect

I have installed Garmin Express and my FR305 synced and uploaded my latest activity.

However, the next night, I plug the cradle in and the screen showed 'Battery Charging in Progress', the PC recognised the FR305 being plugged in. When I logged into Garmin Express, it is showing 'not connected'.

I have restarted the PC, tried various different sequences of starting Garmin Connect and plugging in the FR305, all to no avail. As a test I have plugged in my Edge705 and that worked 1st time!!

    I am sorry that you are having trouble syncing your device. The Forerunner 305 communicates differently with the computer than newer devices. I know you are not receiving the error message in this article but the steps here may resolve the problem.

    Thank you for your help, so far, unfortunately after following all the steps listed it is still in the same state.

    The device is being recognised and showing as working properly; although it is listed as unrecognised in the device list.
