udate or addition... not enough space on nuvi 2598

I have connected direct to pc via garmin express.
my pc shows main unit as full and a 32gb microsdhc uhs-i card as empty..
I have formatted sd card to fat32.main pc shows it .
garmin wont let me install any updates or additional languages,cars etc saying not enough space on unit.
how do I get it to use the sd card?

Some of the system files like languages must be loaded to the internal memory on the nuvi, they will not work from the SD card. If you do not have enough space to load those files to the internal, then space will need to be freed up. Have you recently updated the mapping on the device and did you load it to the internal memory? If so, try reinstalling the mapping to the SD card:

Once the maps are on the SD card, you should be able to load languages and vehicles to the internal memory.
