Nuvi 1490 LMT problems after software update to 6.30

I have a garmin 1430LMT which has been working perfectly for years until I updated the software to version 6.30 a few days ago. It seems to start OK. It must find the sats because the time on the top is accurate. You can go into "Where to" and all is fine. You can go into "volume" and all is fine. I can go into "tools" As soon as I went into "map detail" and then backed out the system crashed and shut off. I pushed the power switch and it came back up.

I go into "view map" and it says ready to navigate but the screen has no map, the touch screen response is delayed for 15 to 30 seconds. Letting it sit for about 1 minute the 3d map and position arrow appears. I pushed the - and waited 30 seconds to hear the beep and the screen didn't do anything. I hit the back key and the main screen comes up with some artifacts on the right that are left over from the prior screen.

I removed the sd card and tested it out in my desktop. I was able to see the files and I checked the file system.

Any ideas?

Any issue after a software update is normally resolved by a master reset so try that first.

Change Vehicle Crashes

The hard reset fixed the problem. I restored my favorites and wanted the 3d arrow instead of the little blue car position indicator. I tried to change it but the system turns itself off. I brought up the screen and arrowed over and put the 3d arrow in the spotlight and pressed done. The device froze and shutdown in 30 seconds. I then went into Garmin express and downloaded the 3d arrow. Still the same problem. I did a soft reset and still the same problem. Then restarted the device, went to change vehicle, arrowed over to the 3d arrow. I didn't touch anything and the device shutoff in 30 seconds. I turned the device on and went to maps and it was fine and didn't shut itself off.

Otherwise the device seems to be working fine.

Glad it's mainly working but unsure why the 3D arrow isn't working, I use the blue car and have deleted all other vehicles so can't help further.
