Garmin Express - Purchased Map

I have purchased South Africa and successfully downloaded it to my device (eventually) however in Garmin Express it still does not show the map as available. I checked on the device in installed maps and it appears to be there but I am concerned as I don't want to get all the way to ZA and find my sat nav is useless.

Can anyone please help?
  • Additional purchased maps won't show in Express. You can check the map is there by zooming out, scrolling across to SA and then zooming in. It will also show under Settings, Map & Vehicle, myMaps (I'm assuming you have a current nuvi model as you don't say which device you have).

    Model nuvi 2559

    Currently a nuvi 2559 and if I go to maps it says its there but when I tried to zoom into ZA it looks blank, as in little detail and I was concerned it was default data I was seeing and not the actual downloaded map.

    Yes it's selected with a tick, I just opened it again and if I zoom in I see hardly any roads. I'm travelling Johannesburg to CT all around the cape and it's imperative I have a sat nav. I purchased Southern Africa and it shows as version 2015.40 in my device.

    Concerned now, if this isn't going to work I will have wasted my money as I only bought the unit for international travel
  • Sounds like its there then. Don't expect the detail in SA to be what you're used to elsewhere.

    OK thanks, fingers crossed then or I'll send up renting one from the hire conmpany
  • You can set your nuvi to simulation mode and run a couple of routes to check it's working.
