I just installed Garmin Express V 3-2-27 because Ant Agent isn't supported in my browsers anymore. Before I can get started a window pops up and tells me 'Express must close to install a required update' unfortunately when the update installs it and I open Express the splash screen shows briefly and then closes and I get an error message and the program doesn't load. The earlier version loads OK and asks me to turn on a device but like I stated earlier I can't get that far.Is their a workaround to stop Express updating?I tried the suggestions in earlier posts but they didn't work.
I am sorry for the troubles. Version 3.2.27 is a older version of Garmin Express and should be uninstalled before the latest version is installed from the official Garmin Express website in the FAQ below.
How do I completely uninstall Garmin Express? How do I install Garmin Express on the computer?
If you continue to have troubles please contact Garmin Product Support by phone.
I installed the new version first but had the problem so installed the older version which works but forces me to update, then it stops working again.I have just put this on a new PC and didn't have Express installed.
The message you mention in your first post is, Express must close to install an update. You're saying that you still get that message if you completely uninstall Garmin Express 3.2.27 then install the latest version from http://software.garmin.com/en-US/express.html If you get rid of the old version, install the latest version, Express shouldn't prompt you to update?
Contacting us by phone will allow us to gather considerable more information. One last thing you can try is to delete the user.config file in the C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Garmin_Ltd._or_its_subsid\express.exe_Url_44******\4.1.6.0\ folder. Close Garmin Express from the computers System Tray and deny it permission to run in the background then delete the file. If you continue to have trouble opening Garmin Express after this then the Software Support Department will need to be contacted by phone.
