Just this morning I received notification of a map update, but when Garmin Express is launched, it cannot find the Nuvi when connected. The PC does not recognize that the Nuvi is connected. I've tried different ports, downloading drivers, etc. but to no avail. Is there a secret to finding the problem? Seems like it would take days to find out going through all the Garmin suggested checks. Can I download the file and install it on the Nuvi directly? When the Nuvi is connected by USB it powers up OK, but the PC does not recognize it. I last updated the maps July 22, 2015 and it worked fine then. Help!!
Apparently the battery was too low for the unit to connect to the PC. After contacting support they suggested I leave the Nuvi plugged into the computer for 8 hours to charge the battery. So, after charging it for 7-8 hours...it connected to the PC immediately and I was able to update the maps.
