Lisa, so your telling me Garmin did not think ahead enough in the design of Garmin Express to consider the fact 2 or even more family members might buy a Garmin device and need to use one computer because they might not have another? It appears Garmin Express only allows one instance per "Windows" or Mac machine. In our family, my wife, my daughter, my son all have garmins. We have 4 linux laptops, and one windows machine. That really sucks considering we spend a hell of a lot of money.
I don't recall the situation 5 years ago (Lisa's post date), but I'm currently using Garmin express in this manner. One Windows computer, one installation of Garmin Express with multiple user accounts associated with multiple Garmin devices.
It will work with multiple devices but not one device. There is a way to share one device using Express but it involves a few extra steps. What you can do is to set up an Express account to save all activities as a staging account. Then set up separate express accounts for each person and export from the staging account to the individual account.
Of course things like steps, sleep, intensity minutes, etc. would be of little value.
Hello. Can you please share your idea how do you achieve this? Quote:"ne Windows computer, one installation of Garmin Express with multiple user accounts associated with multiple Garmin devices".
Thank you in advance,
Igor
When you add a device to Garmin Express you can decide which user account to associate it with. A user account associated with a device can be changed later as well. I have one windows computer, one instance of Garmin Express, and multiple garmin devices added to Garmin Express, each one associated to a separate user account. While it is indeed not possible to associate ONE device with SEVERAL users, I do not see any issues with handling multiple users in Garmin Express, as long as you don't want to share a single device between multiple users.
