Garmin Express and Forerunner 610 Please-Wait-While-We-Finish-Setting-Up-Your-Device

Hi,

I am having what sounds like the same issue as described in this previous, and now closed thread:

This started when the activities from my forerunner 610 stopped uploading. I'd installed express on a new laptop, had successfully synced and uploaded a few runs, then nothing. The watch synced, a bar flashed across the screen but no data. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling express and the reinstallation just hangs after the nickname stage, with the message Please Wait while we finish setting up your device.

I'm in contact with support via email, but so far nothing has helped. Was the thread above successfully resolved? Could it be as simple as a faulty ANT stick?( though this seems unlikely as it finds my device and the quick but incomplete/empty data transfer happens)

Any ideas? It's getting really frustrating.

    Tried 2 PCs, on 2 networks installed and uninstalled on one, cannot sync or manually upload or setup new device after re-install

    I am sorry for the troubles. According to your Connect account you were able to sync earlier today with the Forerunner 910. I do not see that a Forerunner 610 has ever been associated with your account. There is nothing known to us that would result in Garmin Express getting stuck on finish up the device. Following the suggestions in the FAQ article: What can I try when my ANT Fitness device will not sync with Garmin Express? or contacting Garmin Product Support would be the quickest ways to resolve the issue.
