Not loading PAC file for Auto Proxy settings and not saving manual entered settings

Hi,

I cannot sync my files at work since the change to Garmin express from communicator. Auto detect proxy settings does not work for me. My company is using proxy auto config PAC file. If I manually cut and paste the proxy settings from the proxy PAC file then it it does work but Express does not save the manual entered settings. Presumably because my work security settings do not allow write access. Where are the proxy settings stored? I will try to edit the relevant config file if I know where it is located.

Thanks, Mark

    The Config file appears to be located here:

    C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Garmin_Ltd._or_its_subsid\express.exe_Url_tmyp4q5xpktrxmov5dv0jvc2w2zik4la\4.1.5.0\user.config

    Is this correct? Incorrectly altering the config crashes Express so I guess it must the right one. Or ?

    But what is the correct syntax and location for proxy settings?

    I tried this but it didn't work:

    <Proxy>
    <SelectedOption>Manual</SelectedOption>
    <Url>server.name/.../Url>
    <Username>Username</Username>
    <Password>Password</Password>
    </Proxy>

    edited to add:

    Express is writing to the above mentioned config file because after it crashes or after I close Express the config file changes!! I am not sure why it doesn't save the proxy settings or I am looking in the wrong file.

    Express should save the manual proxy settings. If it is not, I would suggest an uninstall/reinstall. If this continues to happen, I would suggest talking to your IT department about some permissions settings for your account. Alternatively you can contact support and we can see if there is anything we can do for you.
