I am unable to download information from my Garmin forerunner 305 to my pc utilizing the Garmin express program and running windows 7 and now 10. However, I’m still able to download my 305 content to my laptop utilizing the Garmin express program and running windows vista. Although i don't believe it is windows causing the conflict, the problems I’m having sure appears to be the cause of a software conflict keeping my Garmin 305 from being recognized by Garmin express. Does anyone no of any programs causing conflicts with Garmin express or conflicting specifically with the forerunner 305 from communicating with Garmin express? If so, please post and provide instructions on how to fix the problems. Thank you.
The Forerunner 305 is a older Garmin Mode fitness device that still uses the Garmin USB drivers. If a Garmin application fails to recognize the device when connected start with the FAQ: How do I download the USB drivers for my Garmin Mode device? This article covers installation and confirming that the Device Manager recognizes it.
Since the Forerunner 305 uses the USB drivers you might can look for other programs that run in the System Tray and constantly monitor USB ports like cell phone software or digital camera software etc.. These generally are not an issue but its possible under the right conditions.
