I downloaded few days ago Win10 to my laptop and tried to use Garmin Express, the program would not open. The message appears that it saying: "unexpected error, Garmin Express needs to be shut down. If this continues contact Garmin support center." Then program closes. Yesterday I managed to get the program working by downloading and installing new version but today problem re-occurred. Does anyone else have this problem?
I have to add that I have been using GE successfully with WIN7 and problems occurred after update. I think I will try to uninstall the software and restart the computer and try to install again...

Thanks, I have re-installed Garmin Express and it appears to be working fine now, so the problem wasn't necessarily Windows 10 after all.
I have successfully set it all up again for my Edge 800 and for my Forerunner 10. However, I now have another exercise to carry out, I got out my old GPSmap 60CSx and it seems GE doesn't support this device and I was redirected to Garmin Map Updater ... not really what I was looking for... more research required
The only time Express ever crashes on me is when I start it with my device already attached. It doesn't happen every time but often enough. What I do most of the time is just leave Express running in the background. Attaching the device for me is the equivalent of clicking the missing sync button.
However, when I restart my computer or shutdown Express for other reasons, I make sure it is running before I attach any device.
The GPSMAP 60CSx is a Garmin Mode device and Garmin Express was not designed to work with this communication type. Direction to use the GarminMapUpdater.exe is correct.

That did seem to solve my issue :). It kept shutting down while i tried to Sync/update on W10. Thanks
