Unable to connect with Garmin services

Hi

I bought the NUVI 52 LM in Jan 2015 as it came with Free Lifetime Updates. However Garmin Express always gives me the message "Unable to connect with Garmin Services". So how can I ever update update my maps??

I have spent hours googling and trying all the ideas. No luck.

My date / time appears fine.
I even turned off my Firewall (wasn't happy doing that).
And refering to the infamous FAQ on the topic... I was indeed able to see http://omt.garmin.com/ .

But alas all I get is this



Can someone take me out of my misery?

    the struggle continues...

    Thanks for the pointers.... but no good :(

    I am on a windows 7 PC. With have superb 200Mbps broadband. I mm not using VPN (but have also tried when connected to work VPN).
    Zero issues with any other S/W.

    I am using the USB cable directly provided by Garmin...

    Garmin Express clearly says it "connects" to my Nuvi 52.... see screenshot
    So that's does not appear to be the issue. In fact I can see the connected USB mass storage device and can navigate into it in my file manager if I so wish.
    I note that Garmin Device is s/w version 4.00.

    Garmin Express software says it is up to date - version 3.2.29.0... see screenshot

    So the issue has go to be (duh) that Garmin Express is "unable to connect with Garmin services".

    If I "x" the "unable to connect..." message, and then click "check for updates" - it goes off and checks (see screenshot.. ). But regrettably it comes back with the old chestnut... unable to connect with Garmin services (as per screenshots above). So it's clearly trying something (!) and it fails.

    Is there a kind knowledgeable person out there who can diagnose the issue?

    I am sorry for the troubles. The latest version of Garmin Express for PC is 4.1.5. Please download and install the latest version from the link below.
