Can't unlock map

I'm trying to unlock my map - but the page wont let me either
a) Cant click Find Devices button - because the button is greyed out
or
b) Cant enter the details required to unlock the map - because I can't place my cursor in the Unit ID field. Strangely I can enter the Device Serial Number and Product Key/Coupon Code fields. But not the Unit ID.

Please can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Can't unlock map

I have dowloaded City Navigator Europe NT 2016.10 to my PC. My Nuvi 310 cannot fit the whole map of Europe. So I usually use MapInstall to upload just the UK bit of this map.

However I cannot unlock it - even thought I can see the unlock code at my Garmin account. When I try to unlock it via MapInstall (or other Garmin products like BaseCamp) it directs me to the online unlock page https://my.garmin.com/maps/unlockMaps.htm where I encounter the problem mentioned previously.

The screenshot you posted cut off the right hand side of the page. In a box on that side, does it show you need Garmin Communicator Plugin (aka GCP or CPI)?

GCP is required to find the device. Once GCP is installed, you will be able to click Find Device. The Unit ID will populate, you just need to enter the serial number and then click on Retrieve Unlocks.

If you are using Internet Explorer as your default browser, IE may need to be run as an Administrator before Unlock Online will unlock the maps on your computer.
