Install map from Edge does not work

Hi all,

I recently bought an Edge 1000 that comes with EU cycle maps. I updated the maps with Express to the latest version, which works fine. I also use BaseCamp. It seems appropriate to copy the maps also to PC to enable easy editing in BC. Express does offer this function, but it seems that i needs the path to Basecamp, before this function is active. But in the dialog I can not edit the field "install path", also the search button next to the field does not function. See the screenshot (in Dutch actually)

So howto select the path to BC or is there an alternative way to copy my maps to basecamp on my PC?

I use latest FW on my Edge, and latest version of Express for PC (4.1.3.0)

Regards,
Johan
  • I'm not sure but I don't believe that map can be installed onto your computer, which is why you cannot fill in the field. If I'm correct your solution would be to copy the map onto a removable drive like a memory stick or a virtual drive.

I would be happy to help you with this. The EU CYCLEMAP cannot be installed on the computer but BaseCamp will read the map from its location on the Edge while it is connected to the computer. SUSSAMB may have some other solutions but this is what I can verify works and is supported by Garmin Product Support.

FAQ: Can I view my preloaded, downloaded or preprogrammed map data in BaseCamp?
