When running "C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Express\Express.exe" on fully patched Windows7.

I am sorry for the troubles. these errors are usually caused by a missing or corrupt prerequisite program. Please review the two FAQ articles below:

What should I do if I receive a "Runtime Error" or "This Application failed to Start" error from a Garmin Application?

Why do I receive the error "GarminMapUpdater.exe has stopped working..." when starting the map update?

If you continue to have troubles please contact Garmin Product Support by phone.

When you are installing Garmin Express or trying to use it.

    Hoary_Marmot,

Again I point out that GarminExpress should be smart enough to check if a 3rd party software is missing or needs an update.

    Example:

Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Packages 2005 , 2008, and 2010. Different Garmin applications require different versions.

Garmin Express should know it is needing one of these versions for it to run correctly.

The question is why it is not programed to do so????

This would save a lot of problems for user's that are using Garmin Express.

User's should not have to think about this, the program should automatically post a message telling them they need to do something.

But Garmin needs to think outside the box.
