I bought a Nubia 2557 new last week. That evening I purchased the city navigator Europe NT. I can't get it to download on my unit. I've tried 2 different sd cards, brand new. Once it downloads, it says cannot unlock maps on my device. Sd cards both fat32, unit on mass storage. The map doesn't show on garmin express, but in my computer I can open the card and I see the maps. I'm leaving tomorrow for Europe, please help! Operating with windows vista. Also tried on a Mac.
What map originally came with your nuvi? If you've bought a new map and it's downloaded as you say but you're getting the message can't unlock maps the download hasn't worked correctly. Try it again and ensure you do a safe eject as otherwise that can result in a corrupted map.
I have located your myGarmin account and do see that you purchased a Downloadable Content "DLC" of Europe. This mapping is very large around 3.5GB in size. You indicated when you viewed the files on the card you can see the mapping. What is the size of the map image? This file will be the largest out of the 3. The other 2 files will be security/unlock files for this device and be very small. These files will be a .UNL and .GMA.
