There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect

Hi,

I have been syncing a Forerunner 410 with Garmin Connect for a while. But for the last few weeks (including today) I have only got "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect" in Garmin Express 4.1.3.0 (and 4.1.4.0 today) on my Win 8.1 computer using an ANT+ USB2 Wireless stick.

I have used "Force Send" a few times during the last few weeks, but consistently get "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect".

I read something about a new version fixing this kind of problem, but as I still see the same problem I decided to ask for help here. What can I do?

regards,
Jan
  • Thank you,

I have already tested other browsers with similar problems. Are you able to paste the content from this link:

Follow the instructions in this FAQ to delete corrupt data from the computer's hard drive: How do I remove FIT files that fail to sync in Garmin Express from my computer?

    as well?

  • JanEri,

Have you tried resetting the browsers? Please find the article below:

Garmin Express stores activity files in a folder on the computer before uploading them to Garmin Connect. After a successful upload, the files are deleted from this folder. If a file contains data that Garmin Connect cannot import, the activity will fail to appear in the account and the file may remain in the folder.

Files that will not upload automatically should be manually deleted to ensure Garmin Express successfully syncs future activities.

To delete these files from the computer:

    Windows:

Press the Windows key + R
    Type %ProgramData% in the box
    Click OK
    Open the Garmin folder
    Open the CoreService folder
    Open the Devices folder
Open the folder with the 10 digit Unit ID for your device (this can be found on the About screen on the device if there are multiple folders present)
    Right-click the Sync folder
    Click Delete
    Mac OS X:

    Open Finder
Click Go from the menu bar
Hold down the Option key on the keyboard
Click Library, then release the Option key
    Open the Application Support folder
    Open the Garmin folder
    Open the Express folder
    Open the RegisteredDevices folder
Open the folder with the 10 digit Unit ID for your device (this can be found on the About screen on the device if there are multiple folders present)
Drag the PendingSyncUploads folder to the Trash
    Empty the Trash
Once this folder has been deleted, future activities can now be synced in Garmin Express.

  • Thanks a lot!

Deleting the %ProgramData%\Garmin\CoreService\Devices\10 digit Unit ID\Sync folder seemed to fix my problem

    Too simple a solution?

I was having sync issues with my 610 fairly regularly. I went through the recommended steps, deleting files, master resets, etc. I think I figured what was causing the issue, at least on my PC. It wouldn't sync after the computer had been to sleep. If I turned it off and restarted it synced. Too simple, and to think of all the time and data I lost.
