Express finds eTrex 30X, Connect doesn't

Just installed, latest versions. Express connects to device, but somehow it is not shown in Connect. Therefore I am unable to send any routes etc to my device. According to salesmen 30x should be compatible with Connect..

What to do?
  • The Etrex won't automatically sync. You need to manually import your gpx files. Having said that I use Basecamp with my handhelds, is there any reason why you're using Connect?

The main application used with the eTrex 30 is Garmin BaseCamp. Most of your interaction will be with BaseCamp, however there is a process for uploading Tracks created on the eTrex into Garmin Connect but Connect is geared towards the Fitness line of devices.

How do I manually upload data from USB Mass Storage devices to Garmin Connect? The difference between working with the eTrex and a Fitness mass storage device would be the location of the files. When a Track is saved on the device the corresponding file is in the GPX folder. When following the Manual Upload instructions to locate the file, you will replace "Activity" with "GPX". Track files are the .gpx file type. Ex: mytrack.gpx

Thanks for your replies, I will get myself to BaseCamp. The reason why I got to this Connect and Express-mess in the first place was information I got while buying the device about 'Connect compatibility'... Instructions following the device were really not very informative about this.
