Error Updating maps

I keep getting an error message saying the 2015.40 update cannot be installed. There aren't any other details given. What can I do to fix this?

What OS? Explain more about what you're doing and when in the process are you getting the error?

I am using windows 7 . I installed the Garmin Express down-loader and then hooked up my Garmin. It connects and it installed a couple updates but not the new maps. It tells me that there is an error in the installation process. I am just really confused as to what to do.

Have you tried all the troubleshooting in our FAQ What should I do if I'm having issues with the Garmin Express client? including verifying that you have at least 13 GB of free space on your C: drive?

I checked the database and no unlock code for the new maps has been generated yet. This would indicate an issue with the download of the mapping data. If you have enough hard drive space, try the troubleshooting in our FAQ What should I do if I am having problems downloading updates in Garmin Express?
