Can't update map on Nuvi 2445

Last time I updated the map on my Nuvi 2445 (soon after purchase) I did it with Garmin Express. Now I load Garmin Express and it tells me that it does not support this device -- please use Garmin Map Updater.

OK, far enough, I download and run Garmin Map Updater.

That says a nuMaps Lifetime Update is available... Continue.

Great, so I click Continue and agree to Licence terms.

Then it says "Garmin GPS is not eligible for this update because a previous map version is not installed".

And that's it. No option offered to install the previous map version!

So what now? Can't update to the latest map because I don't have a previous map, and can't install the previous map!!

Ridiculous!

Please help!

Folks were getting this error with an earlier version of Express. Update Express then try again.

OK, thanks. New version of Express installed and the map update is now installing.

I think that a more appropriate message in Express would have avoided any confusion... instead of saying "this device is not supported, use Garmin Map Updater", why couldn't it just have said "please update to the latest version of Garmin Express"??

That was the error in Express ... :D
