Nuvi Issues Troubleshooting Help

Hello,

I would like to ask for some help. My nuvi is stuck at the "Garmin Logo" screen. I attempted to update it using the Garmin Web Updater, however it seemed to stop working in the middle of the install and I fear it somehow did not finish installing all the required software.

Information about the device:

Garmin Nuvi 850 AM

Information about issue:

Garmin Express will not recognize my device
Garmin Communicator will not recognize my device
Windows is not signing my device a drive letter
Disk Management is not seeing the device as a storage system
Garmin WebUpdater will not find device

It is however recognized in Device Manager, and windows installs default "Garmin USB Driver" when booted into "pre-boot" mode then connecting it to the computer.

What I have tried:

Uninstalling all above mentioned software and reinstalling
Installing Garmin USB Drivers
Putting my device in "Pre-Boot" mode
Changing USB Ports
Changing USB Cables (I work in a Geo Shop, I have over 10 Garmin Brand Data Cables)
Downloaded and tried using nuvi850_470.exe (it doesn't recognize the device) from here http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4443. Can I somehow put this on a MicroSD card?

I work as a central hub to update and manage all the Garmin GPS's for my company. So I am quite familiar with the basic troubleshooting steps to fix a GPS as I have fixed a few, however this one is new and unique to me.

Is there any way that I can load software on an SD card that would force autorun a software update on the device, or something that I have not yet tried?

I feel bad for destroying this guys GPS, and would like to fix it before giving it back to him. Thanks for any help in advance.
